Vegan Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

Turmeric has been given glowing reports as an anti-inflammatory. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric which packs a punch when it comes to anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties while helping to decrease the risk of heart disease as well as slow the development of certain cancer cells.  I love to use turmeric in many of my recipes especially my Golden Milk Turmeric Latte. It’s like a warm hug on a cold day and a much better option than other caffeine and refined sugar-laden beverages.

Vegan Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

Super healthy, naturally sweetened and extremely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups plain unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 can of light coconut milk
  • 1 ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Pinch ground black pepper
  • Sweetener of choice (i.e. maple syrup, coconut sugar, or stevia to taste…..I like maple syrup best!)

 Instructions

  • Add coconut milk, almond milk, ground turmeric, cinnamon & ginger, coconut oil, pepper and your choice of sweetener to a saucepan.
  • Whisk and warm over medium heat until hot to the touch but not boiling – about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and taste to adjust flavour.  Add more sweetener, turmeric or ginger to taste.
  • Serve immediately. Recipe makes 2 servings.
