Program FAQs
Our programs are designed as a clear career pathway with a unique 2-Tier structure.
Tier 1: Holistic Nutrition & Health Coach Certification gives you the foundations in nutrition and the practical coaching skills to start working with clients right away as a Registered Holistic Nutrition Counselor (RHNC). It’s the perfect entry point if you’re new to the field or want to begin building a practice quickly.
Tier 2: Holistic Nutritionist Program takes your training further with advanced clinical nutrition, functional health, and case study work. Graduates earn the Registered Holistic Nutrition Practitioner (RHNP) designation, opening doors to more complex client work, higher recognition, and greater career opportunities.
Together, the two tiers create a seamless pathway – you can start coaching sooner with Tier 1, and expand into full clinical practice with Tier 2 when you’re ready.
You’ll never feel alone.
Our exclusive forums in the online portal and the dedicated student Facebook page connect you with faculty and a global student community. You’ll have guidance, encouragement, and professional mentorship every step of the way. Graduates often say the relationships they built here are as valuable as the certification itself.
Yes, all of the programs and courses are entirely online, providing you with the flexibility to study anywhere, at any time.
Our online nutrition certifications were designed to offer complete convenience and flexibility.
Our programs are intentionally designed to go far beyond standard nutrition courses. Using a root-cause approach to health, you’ll study holistic nutrition and functional medicine, exploring how food and lifestyle affect every body system. You’ll dive into therapeutic diets, supplementation, herbology, nutraceuticals, and traditional Eastern approaches, alongside modern research and evidence-based practice.
We integrate coaching psychology, behaviour change strategies, and client communication tools so you can help people make changes that truly last. You’ll also gain business and practice-building skills, giving you the knowledge and the real-world tools to create a sustainable career.
It’s this combination of nutrition, coaching, functional health, and business that makes our graduates stand out.

The maximum time frame allowed for both the Holistic Nutrition & Health Coach certification program and the Holistic Nutritionist certification is 12 months each. The average completion time for students for each Tier is between 6 and 12 months.
The courses in each term are self-paced, and as such, the length of courses varies based on how much time you have available for your studies. Many students complete their program well before the 12-month deadlines.
The additional courses included within some of our program packages, such as the Business Blueprint and any of the specialization courses, are not factored into core program timeframes. You will have extra time to complete these once you finish the program.
Not to worry, life happens, and we understand that.
You have extension options available at the end of 12 months if you require more time to complete your studies.
Yes, the student portal is very user-friendly and extremely easy to navigate. Our students range in age from people in their 20s to 70s, and we have yet to have anyone who struggled with the technology.
Students receive a user ID and password upon registration. Once you log in, you will see a list of the programs and courses available to you. You will work through each course in a pre-set order, completing all required lesson tests and exams.
Yes, you must achieve a minimum grade of 80% on your lesson tests and final exam to pass each course term.
You will be provided with test and exam rewrite opportunities if you do not meet the 80% threshold.
There are lesson tests after each lesson within each course term, and a final exam at the end of each course term.
To wrap up Tier 1, you will be required to submit a series of case studies that we find more effective than an overall final exam. These case studies help you get practical experience and apply what you have learned to real-life scenarios.
We recommend roughly 7-10 hours per week on average to complete each program within its 12-month deadline. The beauty of the flexibility of our curriculum is that you can study an hour a day or all day on a Sunday. It is designed to fit into YOUR schedule.
No. The certified credentials you earn from the school are yours for life. Upon completion of Tier 1, you’ll receive a diploma stating Certified Holistic Nutrition and Health Coach, and upon completion of Tier 2, your diploma will state Certified Holistic Nutritionist. These designations do not expire because they represent the successful completion of an accredited education program.
Registration, board certification, and memberships with professional associations, however, do require renewal. This typically happens every two years, which often also requires continuing education credits to stay active.

Accreditation FAQs
Absolutely. Our graduates qualify for designations such as RHNC, RHNP, and Board Certification, with eligibility for professional memberships and liability insurance.
Our programs are accredited by respected associations in Canada, the U.S., and globally, which means your training carries weight wherever your career takes you.
We have been educating students for over 13 incredible years. We are a well-established and recognized institution with thousands of graduates from around the world. The majority of our staff have been with us for almost as long, which is a testament to how much everyone here enjoys this industry and the incredible students we get to connect with along the way.
We are recognized by the Health Coach Alliance (HCA), the Global Association for Integrative Nutrition (GAIN), and the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP).
For more information about the designations you qualify for and the organizations, visit our Accreditation page.
Yes. The programs and courses are all approved for CE credits through GAIN and HCA.
Because the holistic nutrition and coaching fields are growing quickly, many independent associations and groups have popped up over the years. Some were started by schools for their own graduates, while others accept members without strict entry requirements. Understandably, this creates confusion for students and practitioners because not all organizations uphold the same standards of credibility, recognition, or accountability.
After extensive research, we chose to align with widely respected organizations including GAIN, HCA, and the NANP because they are independent from any specific school, internationally recognized, and committed to protecting both the public and the profession.
What stood out to us with each organization:
- Their rigorous accreditation
- They conduct in-depth audits of schools before approval, reviewing curriculum, course outlines, exams, instructor credentials, and learning outcomes.
- Their educational standards
- Only programs that meet specific academic and professional benchmarks are granted recognition and only members who graduated from one of their approved schools are granted professional membership.
- Global recognition
-
Their credentials are respected in Canada, the U.S., and abroad, allowing graduates to access liability insurance, select extended benefits coverage for their designations, and professional credibility worldwide.
-
Things to keep in mind:
Not all memberships carry equal weight. Aligning yourself with legitimate organizations ensures your certification is backed by those that set and maintain real standards. This protects your reputation, builds client trust, and strengthens the holistic health profession as a whole.
No, registration isn’t mandatory, and you can practise without it. However, becoming registered with a respected body adds credibility with clients and employers, gives you access to professional liability insurance, and connects you to a community that supports your growth through continuing education and networking.
While it also helps strengthen the industry as a whole, pushing it toward greater acceptance, influence, and integration, the biggest advantage that impacts you directly is that it gives you added trust, protection, and opportunities in your career.
Think of it this way: you wouldn’t see a doctor who wasn’t licensed. The same principle applies here. Registration signals that you’ve met recognized standards and can be trusted with people’s health.
Nutrition Industry FAQs
A Holistic Nutrition Coach is trained to provide clients with foundational nutrition guidance, lifestyle recommendations, meal planning, coaching support, and accountability. Coaches often run one-on-one sessions, online programs, group workshops, and corporate wellness initiatives, and many build successful businesses offering ebooks, recipe collections, and other resources.
A Holistic Nutritionist, on the other hand, completes all of the same core nutrition training as the coach program provides plus advanced studies in anatomy & physiology, biology, nutritional pathology, and in-depth symptomatology. This additional education prepares Nutritionists to work confidently with more complex cases. For example, clients managing chronic conditions, multiple medications, or layered health concerns.
** It is important to note that not all holistic nutritionist programs teach in-depth coaching like we do here, so keep in mind with the above information we are specifically referencing our program content.
For many students, the Holistic Nutrition & Health Coach Certification (Tier 1) provides exactly what they need to do the work they envision. Others choose to continue into our Tier 2 Holistic Nutritionist Program , which builds on the foundation of Tier 1 and opens doors to a broader scope of practice.
The best part? Our structure is fully flexible. The Holistic Nutrition Coach Certification counts as Year 1 of the Holistic Nutritionist Program, so you can start working with clients as a certified coach right away, and transfer seamlessly into Tier 2 whenever you’re ready. This means you can gain experience, income, and confidence while advancing your education at your own pace.
Yes, demand is real and growing. The global wellness economy reached $6.3 trillion in 2023 and is projected to keep expanding.
Sadly, it is chronic disease. Six in ten adults have at least one chronic condition, and four in ten have two or more; much of this burden is tied to modifiable behaviours, including nutrition, activity, stress, sleep, and alcohol use.
Clients need ongoing behaviour change support, which is exactly what holistic nutritionists and coaches provide.
Yes and yes. Digital health coaching is a fast-growing market currently sitting at $11B in 2024, projected to grow to $22B by 2030. It is primarily fuelled by chronic disease, mobile tech, and patient-centred virtual care. Virtual consultations have become the norm over the last few years and continue to be adopted by many practitioners as an option to expand beyond the geographical limitations of in-person visits.
The title “Dietitian” is protected across Canada and the U.S., but the title “Nutritionist” is protected only in a few select provinces, including Alberta, Québec, and Nova Scotia. All this means is that a graduate cannot use the term “nutritionist” in their title. In most U.S. states, the title “nutritionist” is not a legally protected term.
NANP and GAIN both provide legally acceptable and internationally recognized titles to our graduates.
Yes. Holistic nutrition and health coaching are rapidly growing fields. Graduates typically charge $100–$120 per session, and many build thriving practices, whether part-time or full-time.
Combined with the business training included, you’ll be prepared to create a practice that supports both your passion and your livelihood.
Common pathways include private practice (virtual, in-person, or both!), integrative clinics, corporate wellness, community health, fitness/yoga studios, and online education/programs.
The growth of the wellness industry over the last few years has provided growing opportunities with supplement companies, healthy nutrition companies, and preventative health services, creating more partnership and referral channels for qualified practitioners.
