This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on NutraPhoria Alumni, Holistic Nutritionist & Fertility Coach, Crystal Leochko, whose journey illustrates the power of curiosity, resilience, and following your passion. After building a successful career in marketing, Crystal’s personal fertility journey inspired her to help others navigate their path to parenthood with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Combining her lifelong love of food with holistic nutrition expertise, she now guides clients through fertility-supportive nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and community-based support. Crystal’s story is a testament to the impact of practical, bio-individualized wellness approaches, showing us that holistic health is about more than what we eat; it’s about nurturing the whole person – In body, mind, and spirit.

Can you share a bit about your background, specialization, and what first inspired you to pursue holistic nutrition?

I actually started my career in marketing and ran my own marketing company for over 15 years. During my personal fertility journey, I became really frustrated by the lack of information, support, and guidance on what the next steps should be. I wanted to help others navigate that journey with more clarity and confidence.

I’ve also always been a huge foodie, I used to joke at business events I would host, that in my next life I’d be a nutritionist. Well, this next “life” is here, and I’m now focused on combining my love of food with supporting people through their fertility journey.

What’s your unique approach to holistic nutrition, and how does it shape the way you support your clients?

My approach to holistic nutrition is all about moderation and practicality. Every client gets a weekly fertility menu from me, but I also make it clear that I understand we’re all human and that’s okay. I focus on creating plans that are realistic, sustainable, and flexible, so my clients can make meaningful changes without feeling restricted or overwhelmed. It’s about supporting them in a way that fits their life, not the other way around.

How has your perspective on health and wellness changed or evolved since studying Holistic Nutrition?

Since studying Holistic Nutrition, my perspective on health and wellness has really broadened. I’ve come to see just how interconnected everything is, what we eat, how we move, how we manage stress, and even the way we think all impact our overall health and fertility. I now approach wellness much more holistically, focusing not just on individual symptoms, but on supporting the whole person so they can thrive.

Since becoming a holistic nutrition professional, what’s one habit or daily ritual you’ve implemented that has had the biggest impact on your well-being?

One habit that’s had the biggest impact on my well-being is prioritizing sleep. I used to think I didn’t need much, I’d work late into the night and be up early again the next morning. Since committing to a solid sleep routine, I feel so much better, more energized, focused, and balanced. It’s a small change that’s made a huge difference in how I show up every day.

Can you share a standout success story or transformation from a client that deeply impacted you?

One standout success that really sticks with me is a client who was struggling with endometriosis and dealing with constant painful periods. When she came to me, she was frustrated and exhausted from trying to manage the pain without taking opioids. Together, we focused on adjusting her diet, reducing inflammatory foods, and adding fertility-supportive nutrition.

After a few months, the transformation was incredible, her period pain dramatically decreased, she had more energy, and she felt like she finally had control over her body again. Seeing her relief and renewed confidence reminded me why I do this work, helping people feel better in their bodies and giving them hope that change is possible.

How do you stay inspired and continue growing in the ever-evolving world of holistic wellness?

I stay inspired by the very fact that holistic wellness is always evolving, there’s new research and studies coming out every day showing how food truly is medicine. It’s amazing to see how what we eat can impact our overall quality of life, our fertility, and even how we show up in the world. I love being able to bring that knowledge to my clients and continue learning alongside them.

If you could give one piece of advice to current students or recent graduates, what would it be?

One piece of advice I’d give is to stay curious and keep learning, but also trust your own experiences. The world of holistic wellness is constantly evolving, and there’s always something new to explore but don’t forget that your intuition and personal insights are just as valuable as any study or textbook. The best guidance often comes from combining knowledge with real-world experience and listening to the people you’re serving.

What’s next for you? Any exciting projects, goals, or new directions for your wellness practice?

Right now, we’re really excited because we just launched our community on a new platform!  We have a fertility doctor joining the calls every month, an expert joining monthly as well, a lounge where the fertility girls can share and connect, challenges to keep everyone motivated, and our weekly menu is all in there, so many good things to support everyone on their journey. Soon, we’ll also be offering a “light” version for people who just want to hop on a support call without committing fully.

On top of that, we have a podcast coming very soon. I held back for a long time from jumping into the podcast world, but it keeps calling me. I come across so many incredible experts, treatments, and strategies, and I just want to make sure everyone has first-hand access to this information to support them on their fertility journey.
