Student Spotlight: Meet NutraPhoria Alumni, Registered Health & Nutrition Counsellor and Founder of Infinity Nutrition & Health Coaching, Shauna Muldrew!
This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on NutraPhoria alumni Shauna Muldrew, RHNC, the founder of Infinity Nutrition & Health Coaching, and a truly inspiring force in the wellness space. With a background in kinesiology, business, and holistic nutrition, Shauna has built Winnipeg’s #1 female-owned health coaching company, blending fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching into a powerful, personalized approach. Her journey from overcoming addiction to becoming a thriving entrepreneur, single mom, and community leader is nothing short of incredible. Shauna’s story reminds us that when we nourish our bodies and minds holistically, we can rebuild, thrive, and create a life filled with strength, resilience, and possibility.
Can you share a bit about your background, specialization, and what first inspired you to pursue holistic nutrition?
I’ve been in the health and wellness industry for nearly a decade, but my path here was far from linear. In 2017, I earned my diploma and became a Registered Health and Nutrition Counsellor, later adding certifications as a Women’s Coaching Specialist and (soon) a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist. Before that, I studied Kinesiology and Applied Health, as well as Business, at the University of Winnipeg for three years.
Since launching Infinity Nutrition & Health Coaching in 2017, I’ve grown it into Winnipeg’s #1 female-owned health coaching company, celebrating nine years this October. We specialize in highly personalized health coaching programs that combine nutrition, fitness, and overall wellness, delivered both virtually and in-person from our commercial studio.
But the deeper reason I pursued holistic nutrition comes from my own life experience. My story is one of hitting rock bottom and clawing my way back, rebuilding my life piece by piece. In my 20s, I battled drug and alcohol addiction. Sobriety was my first step, but true healing didn’t begin until I embraced a holistic approach to wellness, focusing not just on my body, but my mind and overall health. I learned firsthand how nutrition plays a critical role in healing from the inside out: stabilizing energy, balancing mood, improving resilience, and restoring vitality.
Strength training gave me discipline and confidence, but nutrition gave me the fuel and foundation to sustain it. I began to understand food as more than calories, it’s information for our bodies, a tool for prevention, and a way to optimize how we think, feel, and perform at every age. That shift in perspective changed my life, and it’s what inspired me to help others do the same.
Today, as a single mom, entrepreneur, and coach, I know that prioritizing my health isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. My mission is to help others realize that they, too, can rebuild, thrive, and live fully when they nourish their bodies and minds in a holistic way.
What’s your unique approach to holistic nutrition, and how does it shape the way you support your clients?
My unique approach to holistic nutrition is rooted in connection and integration. While we do offer virtual coaching, we also have a full commercial studio space, which allows us to work with people face-to-face. That in-person connection creates a more hands-on, personal experience with higher accountability; it’s about truly building relationships, not just delivering information.
We also combine nutrition coaching with fitness coaching, teaching our clients how to strength train and move their bodies safely and effectively. This gives them the skills and confidence to make movement a lifelong habit.
What really sets us apart is our team. We have certified nutritionists, personal trainers, yoga teachers, and a registered nurse, all working together to deliver a cohesive, comprehensive experience. It’s not just about food or exercise in isolation; it’s about bringing all aspects of health together in a way that’s realistic, sustainable, and empowering.
How has your perspective on health and wellness changed or evolved since studying Holistic Nutrition?
Has my perspective changed since studying Holistic Nutrition? Absolutely, and in the best way. The more I learn, the more I realize that nothing in health and wellness is truly black and white. I stay on top of the latest research, and I’m not afraid to adapt when new evidence shows a better way forward.
For example, I used to practice intermittent fasting, but I’ve shifted back to eating breakfast to better support my cortisol levels. I used to strength train five times a week, but as I approach 40 this year, I’ve recognized my body thrives on more balance, now it’s three to four sessions a week, with a bigger emphasis on mobility, walking, and active recovery.
That adaptability carries over to how I coach my clients. I believe the most successful approach is one that evolves with your life stage, your goals, and your unique needs. Maximizing outcomes, whether for myself or my clients it often means being willing to pivot, adjust, and meet the body where it’s at.
Since becoming a holistic nutrition professional, what’s one habit or daily ritual you’ve implemented that has had the biggest impact on your well-being?
Since becoming a holistic nutrition professional, I’ve learned that even with all the knowledge and experience, I’m still human, I fall out of habits and have to bring them back. Over the years, I’ve fine-tuned my routines, and honestly, it always comes down to the simplest things and being consistent.
One habit that has had the biggest impact on my well-being is staying well-hydrated. I aim for 2.5 to 3 liters of water a day, especially in the afternoon. It keeps my energy steady, controls my appetite, and reduces cravings.
Another key ritual is eating a savory, high-protein breakfast with fermented foods, things like eggs and egg whites, veggies, sprouted whole-grain toast or protein pancakes, paired with sauerkraut or another fermented side. That combo sets a strong tone for my day and supports healthy eating habits all day long.
And finally, I stay one step ahead by having a solid plan and keeping healthy food accessible in my fridge and planning meals out so I’m not caught off guard. It really is those simple, consistent actions that make all the difference.
How do you stay inspired and continue growing in the ever-evolving world of holistic wellness?
For me, staying inspired in the world of holistic wellness comes down to two things: living it and learning it. Over the last decade, I’ve faced many challenges, and I’ve learned that prioritizing holistic wellness is the absolute foundation of the pyramid for me, the glue that holds everything together. When I take care of my health in a truly holistic way, every other part of my life, parenting, business, and relationships, functions better. That’s what inspires me to lead by example every single day.
The wellness industry is always evolving, and I think that’s what excites me most. I’m committed to continuous learning, collaborating with like-minded health practitioners, and embracing new research so I can adapt and grow alongside the industry. I channel that growth into creating new and improved services for our community, like our new nurse-led health coaching programs that bridge the gap between traditional clinical care and the day-to-day health strategies people need to thrive.
At the end of the day, growth isn’t just about business, it’s about becoming a better version of myself so I can show up fully for my clients, my daughter, and my own health.
Can you share a standout success story or transformation from a client that deeply impacted you?
We have many! Here is one of my favourites:
“I decided to contact Shauna at Infinity after the success my aunt had working with her. I had no idea just how much this decision would change my life. I am proud to have lost almost 27 lbs and 16 inches this last year – but I’m much prouder of what I’ve GAINED on this year-long journey with Shauna.
I gained a massive amount of confidence, strength, a better understanding of nutrition and general wellness as she approaches health from a holistic view and covers everything from hormones, sleep, stress, etc. She helped me learn to listen to and trust my body, and make the changes necessary for an overall healthier lifestyle. This is just the beginning for me. I know I’m on the right path now, thanks to Shauna, and I can’t wait to continue crushing my goals and racking up the non-scale victories!”
If you could give one piece of advice to current students or recent graduates, what would it be?
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: invest in yourself first. People often ask me how I do it all: raise a 4-year-old on my own, grow a thriving and reputable business, lead a team of coaches, and still have energy for everything else. The answer is simple: I put myself first.
I make time to learn, to nourish myself, to exercise, and to lead by example. I maintain a growth and development mindset because I know it’s not selfish; it’s the key that allows me to have the energy, productivity, and inspiration to maximize each day.
Your health, your mindset, and your personal growth are the foundation for everything else. When you prioritize them, you show up stronger in every role you play, and you create the resilience to handle whatever life throws your way.
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects, goals, or new directions for your wellness practice?
There’s a lot on the horizon right now, and it’s such an exciting season for Infinity. One of our biggest new initiatives is our nurse-led health coaching program, which bridges the gap between traditional clinical care and the day-to-day health strategies people need to thrive. We’ve also launched our online member portal, just $10 a month, where members get access to recipes, videos, workshops, and a supportive community.
On the education side, I’m currently completing my Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist designation so I can better serve women navigating this important stage of life. And this October, we’ll be celebrating 9 years in business with an open house event on the 18th, something I’m incredibly proud of.
We’re also continuing to expand into workplace wellness and pursue more speaking opportunities in the community, sharing our message and helping even more people make health and wellness a sustainable, rewarding part of their lives.
