“Applelicious” Guilt-Free Cereal
This cereal is truly an amazing way to start your day. Skip all the sugar and unwanted additives of commercial cereal and instead indulge in this guilt-free goodness.
Apples have anti-inflammatory properties and reduce viral and bacterial load that can be causing inflammation in the body. Apples are filled with different phytochemicals which can help to improve digestion, encourage loss of weight and aid detoxification. Also, improvement of circulation in the lymphatic system, damaged skin repair and blood sugar regulation can happen thanks to eating apples. Apples are also marvellous colon cleansers.
To obtain the best benefits of this amazing fruit chose the darkest red-skinned apples and organic if possible. If you commit to eating three apples per day you will surely see improvement in your health in many ways.
- 2-3 large apples
- remove apple cores, cut in pieces and blend with a bit of filtered water to apple sauce consistency (hand blender works well and it’s easy to clean)
- transfer the mixture to your cereal bowl
- add all the ingredients below and mix well
- 3 tbs chia seeds
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 tbs organic maple sugar
- 10 chopped almonds
- top up the cereal with:
- sugar-free puffed rice (1/2 c)
- sliced banana
- grate some organic dark chocolate on top
- add organic wild blueberries or any kind of berries
- switch dates with different kinds of dried fruits (figs, plums, apricots, raisins….)
- replace almonds with different nuts or seeds (walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts….. hemp seeds, sesame seeds, flax meal……)
