Inflammation Smoothie

June 3, 2018

Inflammation is a part of the body’s immune response; without it, we can’t heal. But when it’s out of control it can cause damage to our body and inflict long-term consequences to our physical, emotional, and mental health. So I decided to create a smoothie containing ingredients that has helped me get my unnecessary inflammation under control to become healthier and happier. I hope that it will do the same for you!

I have dealt with auto-immune issues since I can remember. I am celiac and have certain sensitivities to foods. I started the process of decreasing excess inflammation a few years back when my health really declined and became unmanageable. I became overweight and struggled with severe depression at that time. I started doing my own research on my physical and mental health. I explored information about excess inflammation and how it negatively impacts the body. I came across 3 natural ways to decrease my excess inflammation with inflammation fighting supplements such as turmeric, ginger, and pineapple (Bromelain); these are just some of the benefits from supplements that I found out.

Turmeric

Turmeric originates from Southern India, and has been used by cultures surrounding the area for more than 5000 years for various uses. Turmeric has long been a part of the ancient Ayurveda Medicine system, in its powered form and in juices and tonics. It was used to treat a variety of ailments and diseases, including digestive issues, skin conditions, joint pains and liver problems, as well as helping to bring down levels of inflammation.

Ginger

Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger possesses numerous therapeutic properties including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit the formation of inflammatory compounds, and direct anti-inflammatory effects.

Bromelain

Bromelain has potent anti-inflammatory properties and therefore may be useful in promoting the healing of minor muscle injuries such as sprains and strains.
