Omega-3 Vinaigrette

October 3, 2017

Most commercial salad dressings are made from inflammatory omega-6 oils, and many have added sugar.  This homemade vinaigrette is easy to make and a great way to help improve your omega-3 to 6 ratio, and support your health.

Omega-3 Vinaigrette

Ingredients

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup cold-pressed, unfiltered hemp seed oil
  • 1 – 2 cups raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (amount depends on taste, the more vinegar the better)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp unrefined sea salt or Himalayan salt
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp each (some or all, depending on taste):
  • black pepper
  • ground coriander
  • ground ginger
  • smoked paprika
  • ground cumin
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • celery seed
  • basil
  • oregano

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients in a large measuring cup or bowl with a spout for easy pouring
  • Whisk everything together
  • Pour into glass bottles or jars
  • Store in the fridge

Depending on the amount of vinegar you use and the quality of your olive oil, this may solidify in the fridge. If this happens, then store a weeks’ worth in the cupboard, add then replenish each week from the cupboard into the fridge.
