Quick & Nutritious Breakfast

Life can easily get in the way of eating a balanced and healthy meal. Breakfast has often been stated as the most important meal of the day, yet it is the one meal that is skipped most often or replaced with “grab and go” foods with very little nutritional value.

Here is a quick look at what I do most mornings.

This highly nutritious drink is a blend of Spinach, Baby Greens (Arugula, Romaine, Chard, Mizuna, etc), Banana, Mixed fruit blend ( Cherry, Blackberry, and Blueberry), and Almond milk.

LOADED with nutrition! Vitamin K, carotenoids, manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, calcium, potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, zinc, choline, protein and of course huge amounts of fiber. The Almond milk provides a good dose of Vitamin B12 ( one cup would be roughly 50% of your daily value).

The high quantity of Flavonoids also protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer through their antioxidant properties.

IT TASTES GREAT TOO!

So here is my recipe for this breakfast drink. I always use Organic products as available, unfortunately in this instance the almond milk was not available in Organic, but it is always preferred.

Quick & Nutritious Breakfast

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup fruit blend
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 good size handful of both the Spinach and the Baby Greens

Directions

  • Mix in the blender and it is done
  • This drink can easily be consumed through a straw, therefore it can be taken on the road when time is short
