Coconut Cilantro Smoothie

April 3, 2017

All you need is a blender to make this simple nutrient packed smoothie to start your day off with a boost:

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup unsweetened Almond milk
2-3 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 Cup frozen peas
1 Small banana
1 Cup spinach
Handful cilantro
1-2 Tbsp Unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 Inch knob of peeled ginger* (I grated some fresh ginger in my smoothie this morning and it gave it an extra kick-great for early in the AM)
1 Tsp Glutamine powder*
Filtered water if needed (to desired texture)

Blend it up and enjoy!

This smoothie is a great way to start your day. If you are like me and you cannot handle a lot of sugar in the morning because it drains your energy than this is probably a better option than a berry smoothie.

If you don’t like cilantro and coconut, try adding other things you do like, maybe kale and cashews,   Switch it up, anything goes!

The base is the almond milk, frozen peas and banana but you can add so many different things and create many different variations.

I add glutamine powder to mine because I drink it after my morning workout and I am still trying to strengthen and heal my immune system and gut health.  My Naturopathic doctor has recommended glutamine powder as a supplement to help with the healing process.
