Exercise and Nutrition

July 29, 2017

All my life I’ve been active and always inclined to eat well, until about a year ago when I was on disability and unable to work or function in everyday life. When I became depressed I stopped eating properly and exercising daily and on a regular basis, this was adding gasoline to a fire and my health went downhill quickly.

Exercise and Nutrition

By not eating a balanced diet and doing exercise daily, I developed severe anxiety, stress, sleep issues..etc. This being said I was prescribed a slew of prescription medication. At that time I almost came to the lowest point where I was going to either be hospitalized or die, and it scared me.

It has taken a bit more than one year to get myself into a place where I finally feel like I’m back in control of myself. Once I started exercising daily (minimum 30 mins. a day to 60 mins.) it was about 3 months into it that I really started to feel like everything started to balance out within (chemicals, hormones..etc.) Once I felt like I had stabilized I really started focusing on the food I was putting into my body which is also when I decided to study with NutraPhoria and really learn to make the changes in my life and the lives of those around me, by taking my nutrition to the level that my body needed from me.

I started by really focusing on how fresh the food I was eating was. As well as concentrating on getting fresh vegetables/fruit and food with less the amount of ingredients/processed ingredients as possible. Also, I believe what really is making a difference now is eating small well balanced portions and eating 5 times a day (3 meals and 2 snacks). In doing so I don’t starve my body and feel the intense lows with the attitude changes and a loss of energy. I also don’t become bloated as bad as I use to get.

Now that I feed my body properly, I get the most out of my workouts and have started building more strength and increasing my muscle definition. Seeing these results in my life is something I never thought I could achieve, or never thought that I would become this aware and in tune with my body. I really listen to what it is telling me now. I have a whole new perspective on my body, this beautiful vessel that is carrying me and taking care of me through this life and I have come to really appreciate it and care for it more. When comparing to where I was a year ago, changing my lifestyle really has saved my life in a way I never thought was possible during my time on this planet.

Now that I exercise and eat well, I no longer require 3 out of 4 prescription medications that I was on (being monitored by a medical professional). I am proud of what I have accomplished thus far and will continue to advocate and teach people about the importance about the relationship between exercise and eating well.
