Heart-Warming Lentil Soup

This easy amazing lentil soup will warm you up on cold days and fill you with loads of fuel!

Heart-Warming Lentil Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of lentil (small size lentil)
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 1/2 tbs of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring it to boil and set it on medium heat, while this cooking we are going to slice up our onion into thin slices.
  • In a separate large frying pan add 1 1/2 tbs of extra virgin olive oil, add onions and “fry” them until brown on medium heat, once its ready set aside.
  • Once lentil brought to boil and heat turned down to medium heat, add turmeric. (I’m not the kind that uses a timer so I go buy tasting food throughout cooking.)
  • Once you feel it’s getting softer then add the onions.
  • Cook it till it’s softened, squeeze full lemon juice and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve with fresh sourdough bread slice or without!
