This fresh, delicious smoothie is full of amazing nutrients for your overall health and vitality. It is especially refreshing and energy-giving on a hot day, or during your least productive day, or when you aren’t feeling your best.
Nature’s Sparkle Smoothie
- Coconut milk
- 2 Ripe bananas
- 2 Cups frozen wild blueberries
- 1 Big handful of kale leaves
- 1 Small cucumber
- 1 Tsp spirulina powder
- 1 T chia seeds
- 2 Medjool dates (optional)
This smoothie is highly nutritious due to the presence of spirulina in it. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is rich in a B vitamins complex, minerals, such as iron and iodine, and powerful antioxidants. Spirulina is a complete protein that contains all essential amino acids. In addition, spirulina is extremely detoxifying, and alkalizing to the body.
As for wild blueberries, they contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that prevent the formation of free radicals and repair damaged and worn-out cells in your body. Their immunostimulating properties will keep your immune system strong and protect you from various types of bacteria, parasites, and fungal pathogens.
Wild blueberries reduce chronic inflammation and regulate triglyceride (fat) levels in the blood glucose. Wild blueberries consumption regulates blood sugar level, lowers LDL (‘bad’) cholesterol, normalizes blood pressure, improves blood flow, and removes metabolic plaque from the arteries, thus preventing cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, wild blueberries’ compounds can reduce heavy metals toxicity from pollution, water, and food.
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend well
- Sprinkle some homemade granola or coconut flakes on top and eat your smoothie with a spoon
