Carrot Madness Smoothie

March 15, 2017

I’m a huge smoothie advocate. Why? Simplicity. Taste. Health.

Smoothies are one of the easiest and quickest things to make and can be packed full of healthy ingredients. Furthermore, with a tendency for weight lifters to focus on macronutrients, smoothies are a fantastic way to get micronutrients into the diet.

Now, I’m all for fruit based smoothies but in an attempt to keep my blood sugar levels low, I try to minimize the fruit and really amp up the vegetables. Unfortunately, vegetables give a very earthy taste but with a few tricks, the earthy taste is replaced with a yummy one!

Carrot Madness Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 3 handfuls of spinach
  • Half an avocado
  • 3 inches of cucumber
  • 1/4 banana
  • 1/2 naval orange
  • 1/2 big carrot (shaved)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger
  • Water

Throw all the ingredients into a blender and give it a go!

Enjoy!
