Overnight Oatmeal

March 6, 2018

Our Go-To easy, make ahead breakfast or anytime snack!

This is so versatile, kid friendly, quick, easy and healthy!

I use mason jars with lids.

Overnight Oatmeal

The base is

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal – just not instant
  • 1/2 cup milk – your choice
  • 1/4 cup yogurt – if you eat dairy

Then any add-ins you want.. the sky’s the limit

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter and 1/2 a diced banana, a little squirt of honey or maple syrup (or any sweetener of choice)
  • 2-3 tsp chia seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, skim milk powder
  • fresh fruit – your choice (save some for the top in the morning)
  • 2-3 tsp any nuts, coconut, shredded veggies like carrots, raisins, craisins
  • sprinkle of any spices like cinnamon, cloves, allspice

You really can’t go wrong! Simply measure everything into the jar, mix well, put the lid on and pop it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, stir well and adjust sweetness or spices as needed.
