Well if you are thinking about it but worried you wont get sufficient protein intake, let me tell you that not getting enough protein is a big myth.

Eating a plant based diet, it is very simple to consume plenty of protein rich foods if you are consciously making good food choices and eating wholesome, nutrient dense foods. In fact we don’t need as much protein as we think, it’s far more common and damaging towards our health to consume excess protein than it is to be protein deficient.

  • Weight Loss – In general vegetarians have a lower BMI than meat eaters as they consume less calories and eat more fiber. The isoflavones in plants can prevent fat storage in cells.
  • Healthy Digestive System – When your digestive system is not working well, undigested food stays in your digestive tract and spoils, creating a toxic environment. With high amounts of fiber and low amounts of saturated fat in a plant based diet your digestive system requires less energy and the digestive tract functions more efficiently leaving your gut health happy.
  • Glowing Skin – Nutritious plant foods are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, antioxidants, water and vitamin E. These nutrients all work in wonderful ways to protect and maintain skin health. Vitamin C especially works well as an anti-ageing supplement and it builds and helps maintain collagen in the skin to give support and shape to the body.
  • Disease Prevention – Eating plant based foods are very alkalizing for the body and this helps the body’s buffer system to maintain a balanced acid alkaline pH blood level which is very important for homeostasis of the body. Acidic forming foods including meat, bread, pasta, sweeteners and junk foods throw off your body’s pH balance, which overtime makes you susceptible to illness and diseases. A high acidic environment in the body increases your chances of suffering from chronic inflammation, heart disease, arthritis, fatigue, headaches, cancer, and other diseases.
  • Increased energy levels – The body requires less energy and less time to break down healthy staple foods of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes so you will find after each meal you have tonnes of energy and not feeling sluggish or tired. Spiritual people more in tune with their higher self describe eating meat as ingesting trauma which on an energetics level is a very low vibration frequency. When you eat meat you are essentially eating dead animal which manifests itself as negative energy in the body, this leads to one becoming unclean mentally, physically and spiritually. So if you want to feel great physically and energetically with a clear and more pure mind, eating a plant based diet is the way to go.
