As we all know, hormones play a huge role in how our bodies function. I’d like to think that I know my body very well, and at certain times of the month I can tell that my hormones are out of whack. Several doctors suggested to go on the pill to help regulate them but that was not good for me so I was determined to find foods to help balance them.
When we provide our bodies with the proper nutrients, lower our stress level, and be sure to get enough sleep, our hormones will flow in a more harmonious way and we will feel happier and healthier. Here are some things to eat regularly for our hormones: foods high in healthy fats, protein-rich foods (especially containing amino acids tyrosine and tryptophan), magnesium-rich foods, foods high in B vitamins, fermented foods, foods rich in vitamin D, anti-inflammatory foods, and blood-sugar-balancing foods. Below is a delicious smoothie recipe I made and a great way to start the day to feel your best! For the protein powder, I recommend Arbonne because it is a vegan pea protein with no whey, soy, or gluten and it tastes great!!
