Dessert for breakfast? Say no more. I’ll just admit it, I have a sweet tooth… finding healthy alternatives to satisfy my “sweet cravings” is a MUST in my life. I also LOVE smoothies – they are easy to make, the options are endless and you can pack them full of nutrients + superfoods! So why not create a sweet tasting, satisfying, yet healthy smoothie that you can feel good about drinking. Enter: Cacao Banana Bliss smoothie. Filling. Nourishing. Vitamins. Minerals. Made from plants.
I choose to use all organic ingredients because, that is my personal preference. I wholeheartedly believe it is better to choose organic where / if possible to avoid exposure to chemicals, pesticides, gmo’s etc. Organic food is something I will never compromise no matter my budget because I really do feel much better when I eat this way. Again, personal preference… eating conventional fruits + veg is better than not eating any at all 🙂 (just wash thoroughly).
Cacao Banana Bliss Smoothie
Recipe
(Taste like a chocolate mylkshake)
- 2-3 Frozen bananas
- 1-2 Handfuls of spinach
- 1-2 Tbsp. of cacao powder
- 3 Pitted dates
- 1 Tsp. Cacao nibs
- 1 Tsp. Maca powder
- 1 Tbsp. Nut butter (I prefer almond)
- Nut mylk (I like coconut or oat) Use to desired consistency!
Optional add-on’s: Mushroom powders, plant based protein powder (I use sprout living epic vanilla), hemp seeds or any other superfood powders you enjoy that will likely not alter the taste too much.
Directions
- Add all ingredients into a blender (I love my Vitamix) and BLEND
- Pour into mason jar, grab a reusable straw and enjoy
