Meet NutraPhoria Alumni, Registered Health & Holistic Nutrition Counselor (RHNC), Registered Holistic Nutrition Practitioner (RHNP) and Certified Fertility Nutrition Advisor (CFNA), Juliana Avella!
This month, we’re excited to feature NutraPhoria Alumni Juliana Avella, a practitioner whose personal healing journey inspired a powerful mission to support women on their path to conception through holistic, mind-body-rooted care. With a background in holistic nutrition, integrative health, and emotional wellness, she brings deep compassion and insight to her work as a fertility specialist.
Her own postpartum challenges and her children’s food sensitivities led her to explore the power of nutrition and lifestyle – And ultimately, to create Believe & Conceive, a fertility program grounded in seven pillars of health, including gut and liver support, epigenetics, and trauma healing.
In this spotlight, she shares her approach, what keeps her inspired, and her best advice for fellow students. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact of personalized care—and how our own healing can become our greatest gift to others.
Can you share a bit about your background, specialization, and what first inspired you to pursue holistic nutrition?
I’m a fertility specialist with a strong foundation in holistic nutrition, integrative health, and mind-body practices. My journey began with my own health challenges during postpartum and later with my children developing food sensitivity, which conventional medicine couldn’t fully resolve. This led me to explore holistic nutrition—and I was amazed by how addressing nutrition, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing transformed not just my family health but also later, my fertility journey. That experience inspired me to help others in the same way, especially women navigating the complex road to conception.
What’s your unique approach to holistic nutrition, and how does it shape the way you support your clients?
My approach is deeply personalized. I look at the whole person—their story, biochemistry, lifestyle, and emotional landscape. Especially with fertility, it’s never just about food. We work on aligning the body, mind, and spirit so that conception becomes a natural expression of overall health. Compassion and education are at the heart of my practice.
How has your perspective on health and wellness changed or evolved since studying Holistic Nutrition?
It’s evolved immensely. I used to view health in a very physical and linear way—calories, nutrients, symptoms. Now, I see it as deeply interconnected: emotional health, nervous system regulation, relationships, and mindset are just as important. True wellness is about balance and integration, not perfection.
Since becoming a holistic nutrition professional, what’s one habit or daily ritual you’ve implemented that has had the biggest impact on your well-being?
Morning grounding—whether it’s a walk, a short meditation, or simply taking five deep breaths before I start my day. It sets the tone for how I show up for myself and for others. Creating that space to just be present has been a game-changer in both my personal and professional life!
How do you stay inspired and continue growing in the ever-evolving world of holistic wellness?
I’m constantly inspired by my clients—their resilience, their stories, and their transformations. I also prioritize ongoing education, whether that’s through advanced training, collaborating with other wellness professionals, or simply staying curious. The field is always evolving, and I believe staying open and connected is key to truly serving others.
Can you share a standout success story or transformation from a client that deeply impacted you?
One client had been trying to conceive for years with multiple failed IVF cycles. We worked together for several months, focusing on reducing inflammation, supporting her nervous system, and reconnecting her with her body through nutrition and cycle tracking. Not only did she conceive naturally, but she told me that for the first time, she actually felt peace and trust in her body. That moment reminded me why I do this work.
If you could give one piece of advice to current students or recent graduates, what would it be?
Follow your passion, and trust that your unique voice has a place in this space. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in the wellness world, but your lived experience, empathy, and authenticity are your greatest tools. Don’t rush the process—build relationships, stay grounded, and always lead with purpose.
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects, goals, or new directions for your wellness practice?
Yes! I’m currently working on launching a fertility-focused program that integrates nutrition, cycle awareness, and emotional support called Believe & Conceive based on the Believe Method – a road map I developed over the years of experience that addresses 7 pillars of health including Gut and Liver health, epigenetics, body empowerment, trauma healing and stress management. I’m also expanding my reach through workshops and collaborations with clinics and wellness centers. The goal is to make holistic fertility support more accessible and empowering for women at every stage of their journey.
