Dandelion Root Tea – Coffee Substitute

I used to drink 4-5 coffee’s a day. I knew it was way too much and needed to cut down. The more I drank it the more I felt like I needed it just to be able to focus and work.

One day I decided to cut down on my coffee consumption but I knew I would need a warm substitute. I heard about dandelion root tea and decided to try it.

Why dandelion root?

This is a great substitute to coffee because of its rich earthy taste. I craved that warm drink in the morning and knew I needed something close in taste and colour.

Dandelion root also has many health benefits like regulating your digestive system, is a natural diuretic, balances sugar levels and strengthens the immune system.

Now, I am not anti-coffee. I still have 1 small black cup every morning before I go to work or go to the gym. What I find is by changing to dandelion root tea in the afternoon when I’m feeling the need for something warm and tasty. What I don’t have any more is these intense cravings for caffeine or feeling like I must have a coffee to be able to go on functioning. I am much less dependent on caffeine, some mornings I don’t even have one anymore!
