Shakshuka Recipe

Hello friends,

This time I want to share with you a recipe I discovered when I lived in the Middle East. I’m always looking for healthy recipes that I can prepare easily and quickly with common ingredients.

So this one is one of my favourites. Easy and tasty. You will love it!

This dish is called Shakshuka, and is mainly based on eggs. Oh, eggs, the most complete food I know, full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, healthy fats and pure protein! But hey, let’s get down to business. Here is the recipe…

Shakshuka

(2-4 servings)

Ingredients

  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 tomatoes peeled and cut into large pieces
  • 3 cloves of grounded garlic
  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
  • 4 or 5 eggs
  • Salt, pepper, sweet and spicy paprika
  • Olive oil

Preparation

  • In a pan fry the onion and the garlic in olive oil.
  • Add the tomatoes and let them cook a little.
  • Add tomato sauce with a little bit of water.
  • Season with the condiments and finally add the eggs.
  • Cover the pan and simmer a few minutes until the eggs are ready.
  • Garnish with a few parsley leaves and serve directly in the pan.

Excellent option for a healthy and energizing breakfast, lunch or dinner.
