Apple Crisp Smoothie

Wondering what to do with all those backyard apples? I was having that same dilemma after my very kind and generous neighbour brought me a huge bag of crab-apples from her bountiful tree. So tasty, pure and tart, my granddaughter and I enjoyed a huge amount right away…maybe a few too many! So after a few days away from munching on them, I decided to see if I could make a nutritious smoothie that tasted like my favourite autumn dessert…apple crisp. It was a huge success! I was so excited about it I started writing down the ingredients as I was drinking it. You can never go wrong when something tastes great and is healthy as well…Hope you enjoy it!

Apple Crisp Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 4 small organic crab apples (or one large organic granny smith apple)
  • 2 organic Medjool dates
  • ½ tsp organic cinnamon
  • 1 tsp organic matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tsp bee pollen (optional)
  • 2 tbsp organic chia seeds
  • 5-7 organic raw walnuts
  • ¼ cup organic plain greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of pure coconut water
  • 2 small organic carrots
  • 1 small stalk organic celery
  • 1 handful of organic baby mixed greens
  • Enough filtered water to reach desired consistency (about 2 cups)
