A salad dressing that’s tasty, easy to make, and fights cancer? Yep!! Ever since our family has been so closely affected by cancer I am constantly looking for ways to incorporate cancer killing spices and foods into our diet.
I don’t mean to brag but, I gotta say that I knocked this one right out of the park!!
Every spice in this dressing (turmeric, oregano, garlic, and pepper) induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells.
Ingredient Benefits:
Turmeric
Contains curcumin and has been clinically shown to inhibit the growth of various cancer cells. This powerful ingredient can block every stage of cancer development, including tumour growth, and metastasis. It can also kill many different cancers by triggering apoptosis.
Oregano
Is also known to slow cancer growth and induce apoptosis, thanks to the phytochemical quercetin. Oregano has extremely high levels of antioxidants, one teaspoon of this powerful spice has the same antioxidant power of two cups of red grapes!
Garlic
It has strong antibacterial properties as well as the ability to block the formation and halt the activation of cancer-causing substances. Studies have shown that garlic can lower the risk of developing all types of cancers.
Black Pepper
More specifically the piperine in it, is important because it increases the bioavailability of the turmeric by 2000%
I use it obviously on my tossed salads, but it is also good as a dressing for a bean salad, it can be used as a vegetable dip, and I’ve even used it as a sauce for a stir-fry.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. In the world we live in today we need to give our bodies every advantage when it comes to fighting disease, and when we can find something that does that and tastes great, it’s a win-win!
