I come from a childhood where sweets were a very rare occasional treat. Things like pudding, cakes, cookies, chips and candy were only given on special occasions and always monitored closely. Fast forward to my teen years. I had a part time job waitressing at a local restaurant, earning me my own money. Naturally, I spent a good portion of it on junk food. The restaurant I worked at had a display case of desserts and I can still remember the chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream. It was my favourite treat to have on my breaks. My 17-year-old self thought it was like eating a chocolate creamy piece of heaven.
Now that I’m an adult with my own children I can understand why my mother monitored our junk food intake. However, I have made it my mission to find a healthy alternative to traditional junk food and treats. One of my kids all time favourites is chocolate avocado pudding. It’s simple and healthy (shhh… the kids won’t even know)!
If you are looking for a delicious, easy, healthy snack I know you’re going to love this!
Chocolate Avocado Pudding
Ingredients
- 3 Avocados
- ¼ C Agave Syrup (can substitute honey)
- 4 Tbsp. Cacao Powder
- ½ – ¾ Coconut milk (or any non-dairy milk)
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients into the blender.
- Blend until smooth
- Dish into bowls and enjoy!
That’s it! I told you it was easy!
PS. As a summertime treat this is also amazing if you freeze it into popsicle trays.
