From Raw Vegan To Bone Broth Lover
I have spent most of my life as a vegetarian then turned vegan, and for the most part I have always thrived eating 100% plant based and primarily raw. Over the past year things changed and something was off, and this began my quest to discover if something was missing. I started to hear a lot about the many health benefits of bone broth. I was fascinated but not convinced it was something I should try.
I was committed to being a raw vegan and felt afraid and guilty. As time went on and my digestion suffered along with other things, I began lightly cooking some foods (mostly fibrous vegetables), but still I kept coming back to bone broth. The many health benefits intrigued me for sure, and I was curious if it was just what I needed. I still felt afraid and guilty, I felt as though I was letting go of part of my identity and betraying some unspoken vegan purest convenient.
After a year of thinking, researching and talking to my partner about the unrealistic fears and guilt I decided to try it. Let me you my very first cup took all my guilt, fear, and worries away. It felt nourishing from that first sip. Since including bone broth in my diet I have had the most peaceful, restorative sleep, my skin glows and my hair is thicker and healthier, and my digestion has improved! I have bone broth about four to five times a week and when I do I immediately feel a sense of calm and balancing and restoring of my energy. I feel stronger, and healthier.
There are so many healing benefits of this simple ancient tonic, these are just a few:
- Boosts immunity
- Fights inflammation
- Strengthens bones and teeth
- Anti-aging
- Supports insulin regulation
- Heals gut lining and improves digestion
- Improves sleep
There really is so many healing benefits to bone broth.
