When I wake up in the morning, I am aware of what my body needs to start the day in a healthy way! Protein, minerals like magnesium and sodium, anti-inflammatory aids like Ceylon cinnamon, and good healthy fats to get my body the perfect wake me up! But most importantly, I make this recipe because it is just delicious! I look forward to my own personal blend of ingredients that melt into creamy, fortified breakfast chocolate frosting.
Healthy Chocolate Nut Frosting
Ingredients
1 serving size
- 1 tbs organic coconut oil
- 1 tbs organic nut butter, (peanut, almond or cashew)
- 1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
- 1 tsp organic raw and unsweetened cacao powder
- 1/2 tsp raw unfiltered honey
- pinch of Himalayan pink salt, finely ground
Directions
- Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix until creamy
- I personally like to eat it with a banana but it is amazing on toast or whipped into a bowl of plain Greek yogurt
- Add other chopped fruits if you desire or use this as a healthy alternative frosting on cakes or cookies
- Using cashew butter as the protein pairs well with tropical fruits like pineapple and shredded coconut
- This frosting can also be refrigerated for an hour, after which it will have become hard and you can eat like candy
Enjoy experimenting with flavours but mostly enjoy the fact that the ingredients are packed full of nutrition!
