These Protein Waffles are not only healthy but they are quick and easy to make on those busy mornings and a great way to start the day!
Healthy & Easy Protein Waffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oatmeal (I use Bob’s Redmill Gluten-free rolled oats or quick oatmeal works too)
- 1/8 cup ground flaxseed (optional)
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla is great, but can use chocolate or other flavours too)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup eggs whites
Directions
- Heat waffle iron
- Mix first 4 ingredients together
- Add egg whites until all ingredients moist
- Spray waffle iron with cooking spray or oil
- Put entire mixture in waffle maker and cook for approx. 1 min or until egg whites cook (don’t overcook or will get too hard)
Options
*Add chocolate chips into mixture for kid-happy waffles*
* Add any fruit of choice on top of waffle (ie: strawberries or other berries)
* Syrup or jam or whipped cream always good too
Makes 1 Full Waffle
