This energizing, cold drink offers many health benefits from each of its simple ingredients that packs a punch.
This drink combines two of my favourite things lemonade and lavender and the great taste does not mean it is not good for you. That old saying of if it tastes good then it cannot be good for you does not apply here.
Knowing the health benefits of this drink makes it an easy choice for me in the summer when I am looking for something cool to sip by the pool with friends and family.
Lavender Lemonade Recipe
Ingredients
- ¾ C raw honey (I like locally harvested to get all the nutrients of my area to help with the immune system)
- 11 C pure water
- 6 lemons (freshly squeezed)
- ¼ C dried organic lavender flowers
Directions
- Warm the water and juice of the lemons in a large pot – it does not need to boil, or a simmer just warmed to melt the honey
- Turn off the heat and add the honey until it dissolves
- Add the lavender and allow to steep for at least 30 mins then strain and pour into a pitcher and refrigerate
- Serve over ice and garnish with a lemon slice and lavender sprig
