Meet Certified Holistic Nutritionist and NutraPhoria Alumni, Lindsay Chatham!

This month, we’re proud to spotlight NutraPhoria alumni Lindsay Chatham, a Certified Holistic Nutritionist whose work is rooted in a deep passion for wellness and a genuine desire to support others. Lindsay runs a thriving practice specializing in hormone health, prenatal/postnatal nutrition, and nervous system support. Her approach centers on nourishment over restriction, helping clients heal by creating safety within both body and mind. Lindsay’s journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when you align your purpose with your passion and follow the call to help others feel their best!

Can you share a bit about your background, specialization, and what first inspired you to pursue holistic nutrition?

My passion for nutrition has always been a driving force in my life. Though I spent years pursuing a different career path, I always felt an undeniable pull to truly immerse myself in the world of health and wellness. In 2020, during my maternity leave after having my son, I realized it was time for a change—not just for myself, but for my family. Determined to follow my passion, I delved into all things nutrition, reading books, research articles and articles, connecting with professionals in the field and following their podcasts. Through these connections, I discovered NutraPhoria’s programs, which perfectly fit my needs as a mother balancing life with both a teenager and a one-year-old. In January 2022, I made the leap and enrolled in their two-year program, embarking on my journey to become a Holistic Nutritionist.

This program was truly transformative. The insights I gained not only reshaped my own nutrition and lifestyle but empowered me to maintain healthier habits with confidence. I knew I was on the right path and felt compelled to share this knowledge with other women, helping them experience the benefits and feel supported in their own health journeys.

By November 2023, I completed the two-year program, and in January 2024, I began working with a nutrition business coach who was instrumental in helping me set up and launch my business. In March 2024, Lindsay Chatham Nutrition officially came to life!

But my journey didn’t stop there. When NutraPhoria launched its Childhood Nutrition course, I eagerly enrolled, expanding my expertise into childhood and adolescence nutrition, as well as Pre/Postnatal and Pregnancy Health and Nutrition. Additionally, I pursued specialized training outside of NutraPhoria diving deep into Female Hormone Health.

Today, I work with women of all ages—from teens to those navigating late menopause—supporting them in hormone health, digestive wellness, and nutrition for preconception, pregnancy, and postnatal recovery. I also sometimes work with children and teens to improve their nutrition and digestive health, and I am excited to launch a childhood nutrition program in the near future.

What unique approach or philosophy do you bring to your work that sets your practice apart?

I believe that true healing begins not with deprivation, but with abundance—what we can add to our lives, rather than what we take away. My approach is rooted in balance and sustainability, ensuring that wellness feels achievable for the long term. I don’t believe in restrictive diets, cutting out entire food groups, or demonizing foods. Instead, I help my clients build a nourishing relationship with food through a whole-foods-based approach, always making room for balance, even as we focus on healing.

What makes my practice truly unique is its deep emphasis on slowing down and nurturing the nervous system. Healing isn’t just about the food we eat—it’s about creating safety within the body, shifting out of the fight-or-flight state, and allowing our system to recalibrate. When the body feels safe, healing becomes possible. Through nutrition, mindset, and stress reduction, I guide my clients in restoring balance—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

This approach stems from my own journey. I have walked the same path as my clients—I’ve healed my body and mind, balanced my hormones, regained my menstrual cycle after years of loss, healed my gut, and transformed my life by leaning into nourishment rather than restriction. Now, I teach others how to do the same, helping them step into a state of deep healing, resilience, and sustainable, lasting results.

Can you share a success story or transformation from a client you’ve worked with?

As a nutritionist, nothing is more rewarding than witnessing a true transformation—one where healing goes beyond physical changes and extends into deep trust in the body.

When this client first came to me, she was struggling with awful periods, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, and major fatigue. She had fallen into the cycle of following strict, unsustainable rules to try to ‘get healthy,’ only to self-sabotage when things didn’t go perfectly. I knew that I needed to help her see that getting healthy wasn’t about restrictive, strict dieting and rules — it was about understanding her body, listening to its signals, and learning how to nurture it in a sustainable way.

Together, we went beyond surface-level fixes and explored the deeper layers: her nervous system stressors, eating patterns, limiting beliefs, and even how to train in sync with her cycle. But the most profound shift came when she realized that her body wasn’t working against her — it was working *for* her and that she needed to learn to trust that every process inside was supporting her and helping her heal was the true breakthrough.

We focused on practical changes tailored to her lifestyle as a full-time mom of two very active preteen boys, ensuring every recommendation was realistic and manageable. As she embraced consistency over perfection, she started seeing real results — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. Her bloating reduced, her digestion improved, her hormone levels stabilized, and what was most important, she developed a sense of trust in her body that she never had before. She learned to take it one day at a time, allowing her body the space it needed to feel safe and heal.

She realized that the journey wasn’t just about food, movement, or routine. It was about shifting her mindset, showing her that healing happens in the details, and helping her recognize the little choices that could either support her or hinder her well-being. Watching her grow into a confident, empowered woman who now listens to her body with love and patience has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

How do you stay inspired and continue to expand your knowledge in the ever-evolving field of holistic nutrition?

I love to learn and research, and I have a deep curiosity for holistic health and nutrition. Whether it’s tuning into the latest research, diving into a new course, or exploring fresh perspectives through podcasts, I believe continuous learning is essential in this field of work – especially since it is constantly evolving. The human body (both female and male) fascinates me, and staying informed allows me to better serve my clients and community.

One area that particularly inspires me is women’s health. It’s finally receiving the recognition it deserves, and that progress fuels my passion even more. I love applying new insights to empower and support the women that I work with, ensuring they have access to the most up-to-date information and holistic approaches to their individualized health and well-being. For me, learning isn’t just a habit—it’s a driving force behind the work I do.

What’s one habit or daily ritual you’ve integrated into your own life since becoming a holistic nutrition professional?

One habit that I have embraced since becoming a holistic nutrition professional is prioritizing slow, intentional mornings. Starting the day to myself, with a moment of calm allows me to regulate my nervous system, setting the foundation for balanced energy and focus. I follow this with a high-protein breakfast to stabilize my blood sugar and fuel my body. I make sure to get in some low-impact movement, like strength training, pilates, or yoga (depends on the day) to invigorate and ground myself, something I always recommend to my clients. Additionally, small shifts like avoiding coffee on an empty stomach and emphasizing high-quality animal protein over plant sources have significantly improved my digestion, hormonal balance, and overall health. These daily rituals have transformed not just my physical well-being but my ability to show up fully in my work and my family/personal life.

If you could share one piece of advice to your fellow holistic nutrition students and graduates of the program, what would it be?

It’s so important to remember that as you embark on this journey, do not be afraid to face uncertainty or experience setbacks, especially if you are building a business for the first time. Keep moving forward, embrace continuous learning, engage and connect with others that have done this before for support, and trust that you will find your way. Equally important is fostering strong connections within the holistic nutrition community. Surrounding yourself with like-minded peers provides encouragement, support, and opportunities for collaboration that can enrich both personal and professional growth. A united, thriving network helps amplify the incredible benefits of holistic living, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

Looking ahead, what goals or projects do you have for the future of your wellness practice?

I am truly passionate about the journey that I am on and excited to see my practice evolve in the coming years. Currently, I offer two specialized programs: one focuses on women’s hormonal health, supporting individuals from adolescence through late menopause, and the other is designed for pre/postnatal and pregnancy health and nutrition. Both programs are delivered through highly personalized one-on-one coaching, allowing me to connect deeply with my clients and tailor every aspect to their unique needs, goals, and lifestyles.

Currently, I’m developing a transformative 30-day program centered on slowing down and intentionally nourishing the nervous system. This initiative reflects my commitment to holistic well-being, emphasizing the importance of rest, recovery, and balance to truly heal. Also, as I had mentioned above, many of my clients have been seeking advice for their children and teens and as I am also specialized in childhood nutrition, I have worked with some of them. Not only did I love it, but I saw incredible results in all of them. That said, in the coming months, I plan to create a program dedicated to childhood and teen digestive health and nutrition, helping them to set the foundation for lifelong wellness.
