Superfood Salsa Verde
I love spicy food with lots of flavours! I also like incorporating as many detoxifying, superfoods in my families diet as possible. I love salsa verde on everything from tacos to eggs! The fact that it’s super healthy for you is a major bonus! It is loaded with vitamin C from the limes and chilli. The tomatillos are a good source of niacin, potassium and manganese. The avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K and B-6 as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium and potassium. They also provide Omega-3 fatty acids! Cilantro is loaded with beneficial phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals. Cilantro also helps remove harmful heavy metals! Garlic and onions are both a must daily for me. They help lower blood pressure, reduce high cholesterol and kill all the nasty fungus and bacteria. The best part of this awesome sauce is that it is RAW! Play around with the spice level so the kiddos will eat it. My little guy eats salsa verde with a spoon! Enjoy lovely people!
Ingredients
- 1 lb Tomatillos
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1-2 jalapenos
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1-2 avocados
- 1-2 limes juiced
- 1 teaspoon sea salt + to taste
Instructions
- Remove the papery husks from the tomatillos and rinse them
- Place all ingredients(except avocado, add at the end of blending) in a food processor or blender. Blend till smooth.

Storage: 2-3 days in a fridge
