10 Tips for Stress!
Exams are stressful. As a full-time student, I find myself getting more and more stressed as my exams inch closer. This year, I have finally developed a method to help me reduce stress, and study better. Here are my top ten ways to help reduce stress, relax, and study effectively when studying for exams.
Physical Activity
- Making time for exercise when you are studying can help get your blood pumping and sweat out tension and stress! Taking thirty minutes out of your study time will have many positive effects, like boosting your memory and brain power!
Get outside
- This tip can even by combined with getting physical activity. Not only will you helping your brain power, but being in nature will help you destress and refocus.
Take regular breaks
- For every sixty minutes you study, take a ten to fifteen minute break! By not taking consistent breaks, information becomes harder to retain.
Eat a nutritious diet
- Avoid foods that are high in sugar, and focus on eating healthy, nutritious food! Just think of the food you are eating as the fuel for your brain! The better the food, the better the studying!
Get enough sleep
- Get a good night’s sleep (7 to 8 hours), every night. This will help you stay alert, as well as improve your memory.
Do yoga or meditate
- This will help you slow down and increase your mental clarity.
See a friend/socialize
- Take a moment to laugh with friends and see the positive side of life!
Turn off your phone
- Phones can be distracting! Try turning off your phone to help reduce the amount of distractions you have while studying. This will help keep your focus on what you are learning.
Give yourself time to study
- Start studying early, and follow a plan to help you stay on track and ease your stress!
