The Importance Of Vitamin N

The Importance Of Vitamin N

Vitamin N, is vitamin nature, otherwise known as nature therapy. It is truly a valuable health resource which can be the very best remedy for just about anything.

A Vitamin Deficiency?

There is possibly no greater deficiency than Vitamin N in today’s modern fast paced world.

We wake up in our homes, in our wonderful cozy beds. We drive in our cars to our indoor jobs with possibly few windows and views. Then we drive back to our homes and typically settle in for the night.  Nothing relaxing, soothing or refreshing about that!

Everyone one should be spending more time outside and interacting with nature.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.”

John Burroughs

Nature SOOTHES:

What could be more therapeutic and simple than being outdoors in nature where you can find a great calmness, beauty and solace that cannot be found elsewhere.

Nature has many healing qualities; the sunshine, the warmth, the cool crisp air, the moon light and the energy all around from the soil and the water to the trees and plants.  Natural settings such as forests, lakes, streams, mountains, gardens and beaches are full of plant life and rich in negative ions that are known to boost mood, improve memory, improve attention and concentration, reduce stress response, shift from negative emotions to positive emotions and enhance energy.

Nature is a wonderful little escape at the same time where our issues may not seem as bad, where we can see our difficulties in new ways. A place to feel grounded.

Nature HEALS:

Simply being in nature is health promoting. It can lower concentration of cortisol, reduce blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and the production of stress hormones. In addition, nature helps us cope with pain.

When we are absorbed by nature scenes, we are also distracted from our pain and discomfort.  We can recover quickly from a headache or mental fatigue when we are outdoors.

A natural environment also encourages more movement: We can be more physically active by walking, swimming, running, hiking, skiing, etc., which in turn improves our physical health, energizes us, increases our immunity, helps us sleep better and helps us recover from illness more quickly. All of which help us feel healthy and alive!

Nature PUTS OUR SENSES IN ORDER:

We should make sure to reserve some nature time every day.  We should aim to be outside no matter what the season or the weather. The sights, the sounds and the smells of nature are deeply nourishing. We need to literally stop and smell the roses, to take a moment to feel the breeze, to soak up the sun or to taste the rain, to reach out to touch the trees and flowers, to take our shoes off to walk barefoot, to lay on the grass to rest and feel energy beneath us.

Find A Way To Make It Work For You.

When you can’t make time to connect with nature, do something that you would typically do indoors and bring it outdoors, such as eating a meal, playing, napping, meditating, or doing yoga. Take a moment every day to stop and see, to hear, smell, touch and taste the beauty of nature. Just like a workout, you never regret a walk outdoors. It can be quiet time alone to consciously take deep breaths, to really listen to the sounds of nature, to look at all the beauty mother earth has to offer. Savour the moment. be present, be mindful. breathe in deeply delicious fresh air. There is nothing more gratifying or more breathtaking than to take in that sun rising or sun setting above the water or along the horizon, in the trees or mountains.

If we can’t get outside regularly, one can always bring a little bit of nature’s elements indoors.  Open your windows to create a flow of fresh air, bring plants indoors, they will help cleanse the air. Get some flowers and put them in vases around the house. Decorate with branches, stones and pictures of nature.

Get some vitamin N today and may the beauty of nature bring you peace and health.
