Dove believes we all benefit from a balance of effort and rest. She integrates mindfulness with movement and encourages a deep awareness of the breath in all of her sessions. She is passionate about the integration of mind and body; conscious movement. She guides her students through movements that support the physical body, increases oxygen flow to the brain and carries the body into deep, healing rest. The rest is the most important part in the journey to Dove; one’s willingness to be still and receive is where deep transformation and healing can occur. The body is warm, open and receptive to allow all the benefits of the effort’ing to seep down into the body on a cellular and energetic level during the stillness. Dove always make space for this time at the end of each session so one can restore and renew; coming back to a place of harmony and peace with what is in the now and the strength and willingness to be with whatever that is.
Dove opened Dove’s Bodies, now a Los Angeles institution, more than 33 years ago. With a background combining decades’ worth of studies in fitness, dance, pilates, martial arts, yoga, pranayama, energy healing, intuitive clearing, mindful living, organic eating and meditation, Dove is sought out for her unique, intuitive, somatic approach to fitness, health, wellness and conscious living. Whether working in a group or one-on-one setting, Dove personally guides her clients on their own unique path to wellness, wholeness, and the full integration of mind, body & spirit.
In addition to Dove’s signature group class, suitable for any fitness level, Dove’s private training and wholistic wellness services are ideal for those individuals seeking more hands-on, personalized support toward a deeper, and more honest, connection to the Self.
Dove chose to deepen her yogic studies by completing her 200-hour Rising Lotus Yoga Teaching Training with Claire Hartley and Daniel Stewart, with an apprenticeship in Gentle & Therapeutics with Ann Braden. She specializes in helping those going through trauma, grief, and coping with personal matters that can arise at any stage in our lives. She also has committed herself to supporting her clients through hormonal shifts, perimenopause as well as menopause, along with many other health concerns. She works along side holistic healers and medical doctors who all resonate in the same consciousness of how to tend to our bodies. Dove also offers Hatha, Iyengar, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Yoga Therapy, Gentle & Therapeutics Yoga as well as customized programs for each client.
Dove is a continual student of life and is constantly joining other like minded practitioners to carry her studies further. She has apprenticed with energy healers, somatic healers, chiropractors, acupuncturists, integrative medicine doctors, as well as endocrinologists. Her most recent training has been to dive into the cold with the Wim Hot Method. She is loving the practice of pranayama paired with cold immersion therapy.
Dove’s passion for living an organic lifestyle pours over into how she shops, cooks, eats, gardens, moves and plays. Everything Dove does is authentic to who she is.
