Kristy is a soon to be Holistic Nutritionist. She is currently studying towards her Certification with Nutraphoria. She is very passionate about the power of food and a balanced lifestyle in maintaining optimum health. Kristy’s fascination with health and how the body responds to nutrition has been ongoing for many years. Kristy graduated from college in 2005 and had a very stable career as a Power Engineer in Sarnia Ontario but spent most of her time researching health, nutrition and fitness. When Kristy got pregnant for her first child, she had a difficult time. She had extreme morning sickness and had a hard time eating the right foods. She was told by her doctor to stop all exercise due to complications with her pregnancy. This was a difficult time for her to keep healthy. Nine years (and two healthy children) later Kristy decided to leave her job and move to North Bay, Ontario where her family could enjoy a better life and she could pursue her passion for nutrition and helping others. Because of the challenges that she faced with her own two pregnancies, she plans to specialize in pre and post natal nutrition so that she can help others who are going through the same thing. She is dedicated to find ways to make this time a joyful one that is easy and achievable for new mothers and to give their children the best start possible through optimal nutrition. She believes that with proper nutritional guidance, mothers can take better care of their children. In her spare time Kristy enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, reading both fiction and non-fiction, spending time outdoors with her family, going to the gym and volunteering at her children’s school. In the future Kristy would like to make organic foods more readily available in North Bay and teach high school students to cook delicious and wholesome meals made from plant based ingredients.
