My love for food began at a very young age, granted it wasn’t the greatest food that I would devour as a kid. Growing up in an Italian household, we did eat healthy; lots of veggies and fruit, but also a lot of refined starches and meat. Being in a part of a big family, there is also a celebration practically every weekend- which means tons of sweets. Once my body reached its adolescent years it started fighting back. For as long as I can remember, I have had a weak stomach. Being a naive child, I continued to eat what I wanted when I wanted and completely ignored the problem. It wasn’t until my teen years that I became fascinated with a healthier lifestyle, finding nutritious recipes and healthier alternatives to some of my favourite foods. This eventually led to me completely cutting meat out of my diet, and even going vegan at certain periods of time. Now a PR graduate working a full time job completely unrelated to my field, I realize that one thing has always been consistent- my love for healthy foods. With undiagnosed stomach problems, I have decided to take matters into my own hands and try to cure myself through my diet. I am currently studying to become a Holistic Nutrition Coach and hope to help others get the most out of each meal, providing nutritious recipes that are far from boring. When I’m not roaming the aisles of my local health food store, I am either cooking up healthy alternatives to foods that I crave on the regular or moving my body in some way, shape or form. If I’m not planning what to eat, then I’m most likely planning where to go for my next vacation.
