I am a practicing medical doctor with a passion toward helping people with lifestyle diseases, particularly diabetes. Being diagnosed with diabetes early in life due to being overweight gave me the motivation I needed to pursue my studies in diabetes with the aim of managing my health in a better way.
In my eyes, my success story is where I was able to gradually lose 30 kilograms (almost 70 lbs) and keep my diabetes well under control with minimum medication. Completing a Master’s degree in diabetes gave me not only the medical knowledge I needed to deal with it on a more scientific level, but also instilled a lot of confidence in me when dealing with patients.
Over the last decade, I have seen a great many success stories of how well patients can be managed with proper advice and guidance about lifestyle modifications. I have also had firsthand experience in how difficult it can be for practicing doctors to guide patients individually to make lifestyle changes due to time constraints.
These experiences have made me realize that my main interest and goal is to share my knowledge and coach people to live a healthy life, rather than to prescribe medicines in order to achieve the same life goals. I believe becoming a health coach would not only help me realize this dream, but also be a positive step toward improving the quality of life of people, who deserve to live with dignity and to the fullest.
