I have always been interested in nutrition. My passion started as an overweight teen, learning to improve my health and fitness. From there it went to learning about eating clean, preservative-free foods for myself and my family. My two girls grew up in competitive sports, and it was imperative they learn through example to eat nutritionally in order to keep their energy and health top notch so they could excel in their sports.
It wasn’t until 2013 that my passion really took off. That’s when I lost my very brave father to the battle of cancer. When he died, I started reading everything I could about the causes of cancer, as well as available treatments, including the natural alternatives. What I learned not only shocked me, but it rocked my world.
As eating nutritionally is the foundation of a healthy body, I decided I wanted to help educate people so they can make healthier choices to live a more balanced, healthy life. I enrolled and completed the Holistic Nutritionist course at NutraPhoria, School of Holistic Nutrition, and am licensed with the Canadian Association for Integrative Nutrition, which is our Canadian governing body.
My goal now is to help people create their own wellness journey, whether it be to assist with disease, obesity or just to feel healthier with more energy. I would like people to experience more joy on a daily basis as I feel life is about creating a balance between body, mind and spirit. We live in a world where there is too much stress and boxed eating, eating foods full of preservatives and sugar.
Here’s to getting our world a little bit healthier, one person at a time.
