I have been working in healthcare for many years as in clerical positions, while aware of health issues that plague my community and family.  Once I was faced with my own health issues, then I began to research and become an advocate to improve my health.  Along the way I learned about how food can heal my mind, body and spirit.  I will admit it was a journey  of change from the traditional southern meals I grew up  on and  was feeding my my children.  I took that first step and have been moving forward since, becoming better with the lessons I have learned and apply them to my life.  I am currently comfortable and better in my new healthier lifestyle.

My first approach to healthy lifestyle was juicing. I learn that juicing was one of the best ways to introduce vegetables and fruits to my diet.  I first found juicing recipe books  and began making up recipes on my own and enjoyed it!  I enjoyed it so much, it became a business where I made juices for clients to help them improve their health.  My favorite juices are green juices because the chlorophyll in the juices are a great antioxidant, energizer, detoxifier, and are great for the immune system.   I do have other juices, I can go and and on about because there are so many  that would work for you according to your taste bud, your health issue and a juice that would work for you to get you started. Another idea you can do with juices is make them ice cubes or popsicles for the kids or yourself just as a fun and easy option.  Below is a juice recipe to try out and enjoy. Juice on 🙂

Kale Apple Spinach

2 Carrots peeled and cut

2 red apples sliced

1 handful Kale

1 handful of Spinach

1/2 cup pineapples slice in cubes or organic juice (optional) I usually add pineapple to juices for those who are not allergic and just started to juice, especially kids.
