10 Reasons to Start Eating Healthy…

Most of us probably agree that we could improve our eating habits…. and that we probably should. So why is it so hard to actually stick to eating nutrient-rich foods day-in and day-out and kicking the junk foods to the curb once and for all?

Eating healthy isn’t just a quick fix; it’s not about shedding those extra pounds for an upcoming holiday, or about a temporary diet change with permanent results. Eating healthy is a complete lifestyle revolution within yourself, and guess what… you’re in the driver’s seat!

In today’s world eating has become a habit, a hobby, an activity and in some cases, even an addiction. We no longer eat for the nutrients and energy our body needs, but rather eat because we simply just like to eat. We need a balance of all nutrients (macronutrients and micronutrients) to maintain good health, including vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids and fiber.
YOU decide how you choose to take care of your body… but remember you only have one body to live in.Here are some convincing reasons to start eating healthy today:

  • Increased Energy
  • Increased Mental Clarity
  • Improved Sleep
  • Anti-aging
  • Improved Emotional Well-Being
  • Weight Loss
  • Reduced Illness Risk
  • Increased Libido
  • Improved Digestion & Elimination
  • Clear Glowing Skin

Always remember to take into consideration WHERE your food is coming from – the closer to home it is grown, the more nutrients it will contain (nutrients are lost over time and with varying conditions – Fresh is Best!). Avoid any foods that are processed, contain additives, or contain hydrogenated and saturated fats. Check the label – you should be eating whole foods (one ingredient) or foods that contain whole food ingredients, rather than a long combination of words you can’t even pronounce.

Aim for foods that are organic, not genetically modified and that are free of a toxic overload of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.  If you choose to eat meat and eggs, be sure to select only those that are of high quality, which have been humanely raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. Consider the healthiness of the animal your food is sourced from as any toxins, hormones, antibiotics are passed to you when ingested.

Eat to live, don’t live to eat
