As a busy momma working a full-time job and running a side business, I know how hard it can be to take care of yourself! But you can’t pour from an empty cup. Here are 5 simple, easy tricks I use to make sure my cup stays full and that I’m taking care of myself.
5 Life Hacks for Taking Care of You
- Before pouring yourself a coffee in the morning, drink a glass of water. That way you get your first 8 oz down before your day really even starts! I find that I’m more likely to keep the habit going throughout the day if I start off on the right foot.
- Habit stack! Pair a habit you want to create with a habit you already have! Do you always forget to take your daily supplements? Leave them right by the coffee maker or your box of tea. When you make your morning drink and you’re waiting for it to be done, take them! If you do it long enough, you’ll start to associate one habit with the other!
- Do you use essential oils in your home but always forget to pop a few drops into the diffuser? Create an oil station. Keep your most diffused oils right by the diffuser where you’ll see them along with a jar of water so you have no excuse for filling it up and getting it going.
- Everyone needs a breather now and then. Download an app on your phone that provides quick meditations or breathing exercises. Starting to feel tense? Need a minute? Open up your app and unwind, even if it’s for less than 5 minutes.
- Never have time for that at home workout program you paid for? For the book you’ve been dying to read? Your favourite hobby? Put a date with yourself on your calendar! Block time off just for you! You’d never stand up your best friend or significant other, so don’t stand up yourself either! I know I’m more likely to do these things if I schedule them out!
