Fall is my favourite time of year. The leaves are turning, cozy sweaters come out of hibernation, and there is nothing better than a warm mug of chai latte goodness. You could just brew a cup of chai flavoured tea and call it a day, but why not make your own chai spice blend instead. It’s super easy and multi-purpose.
Chai Lattes At Home
You will need
- 2 TBSP cinnamon
- 1 TBSP + 2 tsp cardamom
- 1 TBSP ginger
- 2 tsp allspice
- 2 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp nutmeg
Directions
- In a small bowl mix all the spices together and store in a glass jar with a lid. You can always play around with the amounts to suit your tastes.
Onto the latte goodness!
- Now that your chai spice mix is ready, bring 1 cup of water to a boil with 1 black tea bag.
- Turn the heat down low and stir in 1 TBSP of the chai spice mix.
- Cover with a lid and let sit for 12-15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and remove the tea bag.
- Add 2 TBSP maple syrup and 1/2 cup unsweetened oat milk or any other plant-based milk you prefer.
- Give the mixture a quick whisk, pour into your favourite mug and enjoy.
