Chai Lattes At Home

Fall is my favourite time of year. The leaves are turning, cozy sweaters come out of hibernation, and there is nothing better than a warm mug of chai latte goodness. You could just brew a cup of chai flavoured tea and call it a day, but why not make your own chai spice blend instead. It’s super easy and multi-purpose.

Chai Lattes At Home

You will need

  • 2 TBSP cinnamon
  • 1 TBSP + 2 tsp cardamom
  • 1 TBSP ginger
  • 2 tsp allspice
  • 2 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  • In a small bowl mix all the spices together and store in a glass jar with a lid. You can always play around with the amounts to suit your tastes.

Onto the latte goodness!

  • Now that your chai spice mix is ready, bring 1 cup of water to a boil with 1 black tea bag.
  • Turn the heat down low and stir in 1 TBSP of the chai spice mix.
  • Cover with a lid and let sit for 12-15 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and remove the tea bag.
  • Add 2 TBSP maple syrup and 1/2 cup unsweetened oat milk or any other plant-based milk you prefer.
  • Give the mixture a quick whisk, pour into your favourite mug and enjoy.
