Cherries are one of my favourite fruits, but they’re only in season for a short amount of time. Solution? Frozen cherries! They’re picked and frozen when ripe, so you can enjoy cherries year-round. They provide Vitamin A and C, fibre, and are low on the glycemic index to keep blood sugar levels stable. Ingredients like cacao and maca are energy-boosting and provide magnesium, calcium, and amino acids. My secret ingredient is frozen cauliflower, which doesn’t affect the colour or taste, but adds extra vitamins and phytonutrients! I often add protein powder and enjoy this smoothie post-workout.
Chocolate Cherry Maca Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries
- 1/2 cup frozen riced cauliflower
- 2 cups cashew milk (or any non-dairy milk)
- 1-2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp maca powder
- 1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder (optional)
Instructions
- Place everything together in the blender, blend, and enjoy!
