This is a family fave for us because of all the goodness it provides and I inevitably end up tripling the recipe as it disappears so quickly. One yummy mason jar offers fibre, energy, taste, protein and gluten-free nutrition that keeps my kids and hubby going all day. It has also been a great ‘pre-workout’ option when going from work or school to the gym.
“Everything But The Kitchen Sink” Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 2 cups quick rolled oats
- 3 1/4 cups of preferred water or milk
- 2 tbsp sweetener of choice (agave, honey, stevia)
- 1/2 cup raisins/craisins
- 1/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp coconut or MCT oil
- 1 scoop of preferred protein powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 tbsp flax meal
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Mix all ingredients into a pot and simmer on stove until desired consistency. Put into one serve mason jars and finish with favourite toppings eg: carob chips, blueberries, greek yogurt, nuts
