Friendly Holiday Reminders
Let’s be real. This time of year is crazy for everyone. We are all stressed out, feeling pressured and rushed, and have a million different things on our minds. We all know what we should be doing to stay healthy during this crazy time, but sometimes we need a friendly reminder. So, here we go….
- Breathe. Yup, I said it. Take a quiet moment for yourself and take a few deep breaths. It will all be ok.
- Stay hydrated. Keeping well hydrated with water will help us to not overeat during the holiday rush.
- Portion control. This time of year brings us a plethora of rich, unhealthy foods we do not normally eat. If you are gong to have some, make it a small portion and don’t beat yourself up over it.
- Stay active. It seems like there is no time for anything around the holidays, but keeping your exercise routine is very important. You will feel better about yourself, and help keep your metabolism in tip top shape.
- Sleep. Getting the proper rest may seem impossible, but it is very important.
- Be prepared. Having fresh fruits and veggies ready to go when you are in a rush will set you up for success. Food prep is of great importance especially when our lives get busy and hectic. This will help you resist those treats in the lunch room at work, or hitting up a dive-thru in between errands.
- Eat your veggies. Have your salad and veggies first. This will help you fill up before you indulge in some of the less healthy options at your holiday function
I hope these little reminders help. Enjoy the season, and good luck!!!!!!!
