Do you ever get tired of drinking smoothies?
I have to admit that I am a huge fan of smoothies. Really, who is not? They are a simple way of incorporating a tonne of healthy ingredients together (even hiding a few from the kids), they are convenient and clean up is a breeze.
The thing is though; if you are like me, I love to eat my food and not always drink it. Although there is always a time for a smoothie, there are other times when I want to eat my food. I also like variety and this is why I am having so much fun experimenting with the “Smoothie Bowl” concept.
Here is a simple breakfast smoothie bowl that I have been enjoying a lot lately.
Hawaiian Spirulina Breakfast Bowl
- 1/2 cup plain Kefir yogurt
- 1 scoop Hawaiian spirulina (provided in package)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 Tbsp ground flax
- 1/4 chopped walnuts
- handful of organic raspberries
Mix together the Kefir, spirulina, protein powder, chia, hemp and ground flax. Top with walnuts and raspberries. Enjoy!
Amy
Tips: I will mix Kefir and spirulina in a glass jar and leave in fridge. Then, I pre-make packages of my protein powder, chia, hemp, flax and walnuts and leave them in my pantry. This is an easy way to grab and go for work, when I am busying getting the kids ready for school in the mornings or to take with me on a weekend away.
