Most commercial salad dressings are made from inflammatory omega-6 oils, and many have added sugar. This homemade vinaigrette is easy to make and a great way to help improve your omega-3 to 6 ratio, and support your health.
Omega-3 Vinaigrette
Ingredients
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup cold-pressed, unfiltered hemp seed oil
- 1 – 2 cups raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (amount depends on taste, the more vinegar the better)
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tsp unrefined sea salt or Himalayan salt
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp each (some or all, depending on taste):
- black pepper
- ground coriander
- ground ginger
- smoked paprika
- ground cumin
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- celery seed
- basil
- oregano
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in a large measuring cup or bowl with a spout for easy pouring
- Whisk everything together
- Pour into glass bottles or jars
- Store in the fridge
Depending on the amount of vinegar you use and the quality of your olive oil, this may solidify in the fridge. If this happens, then store a weeks’ worth in the cupboard, add then replenish each week from the cupboard into the fridge.
