Ever since I began experimenting with making my own healthier versions of chocolate bars, I have yet to purchase the store bought kind! My partner loves them too 🙂
Recipe – Maca Dark Chocolate Bar
What you’ll need
- Chocolate bar mold like this one.
- Small sauce pan
- Metal or glass mixing bowl
- Measuring spoons
Ingredients
- 50g raw cacao butter
- 2-3 tablespoons coconut sugar, depending on sweetness preference
- 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1 tablespoon gelatinous maca
- 1 tablespoon mesquite powder
Method
- Melt the raw cacao butter in a heat proof bowl, by placing it in a pan filled with a small amount of water and then heating.
- While the cacao butter is melting, prepare your mold by sprinkling toppings of your choice into the empty mold. (I really like flaked sea salt, goji berries and cacao nibs.)
- Dissolve the coconut sugar and add raw cacao, maca, & mesquite powder, stir to combine.
- Remove from heat. Pour chocolate mixture into mold and carefully place in freezer. Leave there for approximately 15 minutes or until set. Store bars in refrigerator or freezer.
Enjoy!
