Simple Date Bites

September 19, 2019

This simple recipe will satisfy your sweet tooth without all the extra salt, sugar and fat of store-bought treats! I like to make them in bulk and store them in the freezer so that I always have some on-hand when those cravings show up! I suggest using a food processor to mix these ingredients but it isn’t necessary.

Simple Date Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soaked dates*
  • 1 cup nuts (I usually use cashews but almonds would work too)

Instructions

  • Mix in a food processor until forms a sticky batter.
  • Next, scoop the dough and roll in your hands to form balls.
  • Arrange them on a flat surface and place them in the fridge or freezer for 30 minutes before serving.

That’s it! You can always add some peanut butter, coconut flakes, pumpkin puree or mint extract for additional flavour.  The options are endless with this tasty treat.

Tip: *soaking the dates in hot water for even a few minutes helps soften them for mixing
