Hello from Montreal Quebec!!
Vacation Time Is No Time To Worry
Do you plan on getting away this winter so you can get your healthy share of vitamin D from beautiful sunshine but hesitate because you don’t want to overindulge and ruin your great track record of eating healthy and staying fit this year?
I would like to suggest some great tips that you can do that will take away those worries of gaining weight or just not feeling well because you went off track.
Firstly, one of the first mistakes a lot of people make whether at an all inclusive or not is to eat at the first place we see. Sometimes this is not always the best choice and may be full of greasy unhealthy fatty foods. FOODS YOU WANT TO AVOID!!! Most places always have a fresh grilled vegetable and fish or meat place available. Sometimes they are just not the first thing you will see because unfortunately, the majority of people prefer fatty greasy food.
Tips
- Try to have more fish than meat so you can get a healthy dose of omega 3 and omega 6 while you are away.
- Eat lots of fresh fruit that are native to the beautiful tropics which is part of what is great about going south .
- Avoid all of those sugar filled alcoholic drinks and if you do have them ask them not to add any unwanted extra sugar that they usually put in and around the glass.
- Drink water instead of soda!!!! You will thank me for it later and you will stay hydrated while enjoying the sunshine.
- Remember alcohol acts like a diuretic so that mixed with sunshine leads to a very dangerous combination that can easily lead to dehydration and sometimes worse.
- One other thing I would like to add is to remember if going south to please take probiotics at least 2 weeks prior to avoid travellers diarrhea. Prepare your gut with healthy bacteria so you can enjoy your vacation and not get sick from unhealthy bacteria that your gut cannot handle.
- Last but not least ENJOY your fun in the sun!!!
