Ways To Get Your Family Moving

Did you know that children aged 5-11 should get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily? Everyone knows that physical activity benefits the body, but it also benefits the mind. Exercise can boost happy hormones, help build self-esteem, improve mood, and build a strong body!

Here are some ways to incorporate physical activity and to get your family moving:

  • Throw a baseball around
  • Go swimming
  • Play leapfrog
  • Play tag
  • Go for a family hike or nature walk
  • Hula Hoop
  • Dance to some fun music
  • Go for a family bike ride
  • Play jump rope
  • Play hopscotch
  • Jump on a trampoline
  • Set up an obstacle course

By making physical activity an important part of your families life, you will help to build healthy connections to exercise and sport for your children and everyone will benefit by living a healthier, non-sedentary lifestyle!
