Bone Broth
What is it???
Bone broth is a flavourful and tasty liquid of meat, vegetables, fish and bones that have been simmered in water for hours. The longer the better! 4-48 hours
Here are some benefits of bone broth:
- Bone broth is very rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, and potassium. These rich mineral help support our immune system.
- Bone broth also contains healing compounds such as collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline. Collagen in bone broth helps heal your gut and reduces intestinal inflammation.
- It also has been proven to help you sleep better! Glycine found in bone broth can help you sleep and keep you from becoming fatigued.
- Bone broth also increases bone strength, as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus in the bones boil out into the broth, it leaves you with a liquid full of essential nutrients!
- Bone broth also provides the amino acid for collagen production. Collagen keeps your skin looking youthful by keeping it firm and smooth!
Uses for bone broth:
- Using bone broth can be as easy as poring yourself a warm mug full to enjoy on its own, to using it for soups, stews, gravies, or added to vegetables or rice for extra flavour and nutrients.
This is one of my favourite bone broth recipes I’ve used, it’s simple, easy and full of flavour!
